Aciiiiiiid!!!!!!
January 16, 2011
Here we are....a new website, banging choons new and old, wat a great start to 2011!!! I have got this blog facility on my site, i've never written a blog but i thought i'd write something......
As you have probably heard I produce electronic music...I do it at home in my flat in my front room/studio mostly at silly o clock in the morning...I have to say my neighbours are pretty cool about it and despite the rumbling basslines and breakbeat mashups i rarely get complaints...
I've always loved music from as early as i can remember...my parents are big irish music fans my dad being irish and that is really what i grew up with at home despite my mum having a sikkk record collection from the 60's she rarely listened to them. It was my older friends that let me copy their tapes and records back in the day from Michael Jackson to KLF i had a great tape collection. My grandparents bought me a mini casio keyboard wen i was 8 and i used to spend hours on it and used to take it into school to show my mates at lunchtimes...
Wen i was about 10 the rave scene becoming notorious and thanks to my friends older brothers and later my mates sister who dj'd on kiss i got a healthy dose of old skool growning up. I'd heard of Aciiiiiiid house parties and the drug Aciiiiiid and Extacy and I was fascinated equally by the scene and the drugs and despite being really young was determined that as soon as i got old enough i would go raving and experiment with the drugs associated with the scene....
When I went to secondary school i started drum lessons but after 2 months and still no 'go' on an actual kit rather a crappy rubber 'practice pad' where my teacher would use the syllables of word such as tea, coffee and black and decker to teach me drum rolls etc. I thought this was shit and jacked it in...it wasnt until i was 17 that i bought my first drum kit and started a band with my bessie Rich on guitar and my then gf Bex on Vocals...we recorded loads of songs in my parents garage on a tape player, we rocked, but it was more of a hobby than anything serious and we only did one gig and never got a permanent bass player...During that time i took up guitar and with guidance from my fellow band members i mastered most of the chords and spent many hours making as much noise on my electric guitar and amp as i could...
A bit earlier in my mispent youth I had an Amiga which my friend Tim was using to produce electronic music with notable success...i got myself a copy of a 'Tracker' program and fucked around making dodgy hardcore tunes, my favourite sampled a recording i got of my mum giving my little bro a bollocking for having his music too loud...
Fast forward to 2002, i bought my first PC and spoke to Tim about getting myself set up for music
production...he taught me the basics and I took it from there...Since that time I have spent hours, days, weeks, months and years creating music.
The End
